Description

Kronborg was built to demonstrate Denmark’s power and prosperity. Sumptuous banquets were typical events of castle life, and the castle’s magnificent architecture was an excellent backdrop for the king and his Court.

This magnificent royal setting inspired Shakespeare to set his famous tragedy Hamlet at the castle of Elsinore. In 2000 Kronborg Castle was inscribed on UNESCO’s List of World Heritage Sites. Now, Kronborg are opening doors to a number of unique rooms, which normally are closed to the public, giving you the opportunity to utilize this unique setting for meetings, conferences and dinners.

We recommend a special guided tour at Kronborg. This will give you the opportunity to explore sights such as the royal chambers and halls, the ghastly casemates and otherwise closed-off towers.

An evening event at Kronborg is an outstanding experience. Start with a welcoming drink on the Flag Bastion or in the impressive Ballroom. Let trumpeters blow fanfares in the castle courtyard with historical fighters to entertain your guests.

Enjoy your dinner in King Eric of Pomerania’s chamber, where the walls ooze with history, in King Frederik II’s wine cellar, under the majestic vaults, or in the magnificent Ballroom with room for 350 guests.

Finally, when your guests leave Kronborg, the ‘torchlight route’ along the moat gives a stirring end to a stunning evening. We hope, that you and your guest will enjoy a historical experience at Kronborg.
