Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center is one of the largest hotels and congress venues i Copenhagen, uniquely designed through the magical theme of the world famous Tivoli Gardens.
The hotel is designed by the architect Kim Utzon and came to life through a close cooperation between Arp-Hansen Hotel Group and Tivoli Gardens. The minimalistic yet inviting Scandinavian architecture and design makes the hotel and congress center completely unique and without parallel to other venues.
Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center offers luxurious facilities for both business travelers and leisure guests including; Concierge service, Express Check Out Service, a large indoor swimming pool & sauna, a well-equipped fitness center and a business center. In addition, free wireless internet access is offered throughout the hotel.

Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center is a member of the Danish trade organization HORESTA (Association of the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Industry). HORESTA actively participates in the work of promoting sustainable tourism on behalf of the industry.
SPECIFIC ACTIONS
The Green Key
The Green Key is the independent and international eco-label of the hospitality industry. “The Green Key” originates from Denmark, but is now widely used in more than 40 countries and around 2,100 companieshave achieved this award. The Green Key is awarded to companies in the hospitality industry who make an effort to protect the environment by upholding a number of strict criteria. The criteria for each country are defined by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and the international committee in the individual countries. The criteria derive from 13 main areas, such as energy, water, sustainable food, CSR etc.
Remote Cooling
Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center has chosen to use remote cooling for the hotel, provided by the Danish utility company HOFOR. Instead of using local refrigeration units that use electricity that might come from fossil energy sources, Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center uses a more environmentally correct solution, as the CO2 load is reduced by up to 70% by using remote cooling.
Sedum Roof (Green Roofs)
On top of the two hotel buildings that form THCC, green roofs, called sedum roofs, have been established in close collaboration with the Danish gardening company, “Grøn Vækst”. Sedum roofs is a climatefriendly and CO2-neutral roofing solution and has the great advantage that it can with-hold up to 50% of the rainwater that would otherwise have burdened the sewer system. In addition, sedum also contributes to a greater biodiversity in the city.
Water dispensers for staff and restaurant
To reduce disposable packaging within THCC, water dispensers have been installed in central offices and in staff areas. In addition, all employees have been provided with a recyclable water bottle, produced in BPA-free plastic, which can be used for water. In the Brasserie at THCC, water dispensers have been installed for the production of sparkling water, to offer both our guests and staff an alternative to bottle water.
Chargers for Electric/Hybrid Cars
To help our guests who drive electric/hybrid cars, Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center has installed two charging stations in the carpark. We offer two different ways of TYPE 2 charging stations from the brand Clever which electricity/hybrid car owners n Scandinavia typically subscribe to.
Rainwater collection
3 x 10,000 liter tanks are installed to collect rainwater, which is used for watering our green areas. This means that we don´t have to use drinking water and the rainwater is optimally utilized for irrigation of plants during dry periods.
Dispensers in rooms
Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center has decided to replace all soap and shampoo in guest rooms in disposable packaging, for dispensers in bath and by hand wash. In Standard, Superior and Family rooms, we are offering our own Arp-Hansen HotelGroup’s certified shampoo, conditioner and soap in dispensers.For the higher room categories, we have the Danish natural products from Karmamejus (available in Executive rooms, Junior suites and Suites). We achieve a significant saving regarding the quantity of waste, both packaging, but also in the form of shampoo, soap, etc.
Union agreement
To ensure the best and most safe conditions for all employees, all staff members at Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center are insured by a union agreement within the work field relevant to the employee in question. This means that both the employer and the employees at all times know what conditions are applicable at Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center, ensuring both pay and working conditions as a good foundation for a good workplace. Furthermore, the employees are covered by a health insurance which entitles them to free massage, physiotherapist and chiropractor.
Check of suppliers
The Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center has a large external staff group attached to the hotel. In order to ensure that all subcontractors comply with applicable legislation and union agreement, an unannounced check of all external subcontractors’ staff handling is carried out twice a year, to ensure that our requirements are meet by our subcontractors.
