The city’s unique event space on a peninsular waterfront in the heart of Copenhagen.
Surrounded by water on all sides and with views of Amalienborg Palace, Copenhagen Opera House and the Royal Danish Playhouse, Ofelia Plads holds one of the most unique locations in the capital. The 10,000 square metres of concrete and easy access to electricity, water and the setting up of marquees, there is room and capacity for events and gatherings of all sorts and genres.
Standing on the square, it is hard not to be captivated by the way the urban space opens up around you – right in the middle of the capital, with the sky above and water on three sides. The interchanging reflections between sky and sea is spectacular, and posing as external framework for Ofelia Plads, it promotes the square as something very special.
On quiet days, Ofelia Plads, with its concrete paving and clean cut surfaces offers a calm Nordic aesthetic that invites to immersion in talks, teambulding exercises, exhibitions and arts experiences - or even a session of quiet morning yoga. While a spectacular dance performance set on the tip of the pier, a fashion show, concert or several thousand Ironmen and -women triumphantly crossing the finish line significantly changes the scenery, transforming Ofelia Plads into a vibrant space buzzing with life and activity.
With its 10.000 m2 and high ‘ceilings’ Ofelia Plads abounds with possibilities, and you are always welcome to contact us for feedback on your ideas. With 10 years of experience hosting events and activities on the square we are well experienced in the field and always happy to share our take on what works – and what doesn’t – on the square.
So far Ofelia Plads has hosted everything from car events, product launches and foto shoots to large corporate events, festivals, concerts and exhibitions – and loads in between. You can rent the entire square for a public event or parts of the square for a private event. For private events we have a limit of up to 2,000 m2 within a defined area, so as not to close the whole area off for the public.

The Area
On one side of Ofelia Plads you will find the lively Nyhavn district with its small eateries and bubbling street life. On the other you’ll find Frederiksstaden with Bredgades art galleries and antiques shops, the Marble Church (Frederik’s Church) and Amalienborg Palace. Ofelia Plads’ next door neighbour is the Royal Danish Playhouse, and underneath the square itself is Jeudan’s underground car park with room for 500 cars.
General management and cleaning
Jeudan Parking is a permanent supplier of management tasks such as cleaning and waste management on the square. Jeudan is also available for additional services such as fencing, bicycle parking solutions and the setting up of sanitary services such as temporary toilets etc.
Food and beverages
You are welcome to sell food and beverages to your guests in the area you rent. Ofelia Plads has a close collaboration with Meyers who will be happy to propose catering solutions for your event. Just say the word and we will connect you. It is also possible to make arrangements with the two cafés run by ‘Luftkastellet’ already located on Ofelia Plads to cater your event. If you and or a catering partner of your choice wish to be the sole provider of food and drinks during your event, it requires a special agreement with Luftkastellet.

When you host your meeting or event at Copenhagen Admiral Hotel, it is in bright rooms with room for 2 to 300 guests, views of the Copenhagen Harbour combined with a SALT kitchen in a class of its own. Outside, you have the quayside surroundings offering views across the harbour. Inside, the hotel’s massive beams complement the inviting décor. Small gardens are situated outside the meeting rooms.

With a fantastic atmosphere and unique location at the last frontier in Nyhavn Canal, four star 71 Nyhavn Hotel is at home in two historic warehouse buildings from the early 1800.
For 200 years, Nyhavn 71 has been standing between the foamy sprays from the Harbour and life along the Nyhavn Canal. The hotel encompasses two beautiful warehouses with each their special charm and character. The red warehouse has been totally renovated and opened in October 2016 with 64 new enlarged Deluxe rooms.
