WELCOME TO OFELIA PLADS
The city’s unique event space on a peninsular waterfront
in the heart of Copenhagen.
Ofelia Plads is uniquely situated in the capital as it is surrounded by water on all sides and has views of Amalienborg Palace, Copenhagen Opera House and the Royal Danish Playhouse. It is paved with 10,000 square metres of concrete for eventful activities with easy access to things like power, water and the setting up of marquees.
Standing on the square, we are convinced you will be quite impressed by the wide open sky in the centre of the capital and how it reflects off the sea surrounding you on three sides. On quiet days, Ofelia Plads, with its concrete paving and sheer surfaces – embodies a unique Nordic aesthetic, whereas it can be utterly transformed by a spectacular dance performance on the tip of the pier, a yoga class, a jazz concert or several thousand Ironmen/Ironwomen triumphantly crossing the finish line, becoming both dynamic and eventful. It abounds with possibilities, and you can always contact us for feedback on your ideas and hear our experience of what works – and what doesn’t – on the square. Welcome to Ofelia Plads and to events on this waterfront under wide open skies.
You can rent the entire square for a public event, and parts of the square for a private event. Private events using up to 2,000 m2 within a defined area can be held at Ofelia Plads.
At present, Ofelia Plads is paved with concrete for car launches, product launches, large corporate events, festivals, concerts, art exhibitions and much more besides.
On one side is the lively Nyhavn district with its small eateries and bubbling street life, and on the other is the Frederiksstaden district with art galleries on Bredgade, the Marble Church (Frederik’s Church) and Amalienborg Palace. Ofelia Plads is right next to the Royal Danish Playhouse, and underneath is Jeudan’s underground 500-space car park.
General management and cleaning
Jeudan is a permanent supplier of management tasks such as cleaning and waste management. Jeudan is also a vendor of additional services such as fencing, bicycle parking solutions and the setting up of toilets.
You are welcome to sell food and beverages to guests in the area you rent. Two cafés – operated by Luftkastellet – are situated on Ofelia Plads. It is possible to make arrangements with Luftkastellet to cater your event. If you want Luftkastellet to refrain from being open during your event, you must enter into a specific agreement to this effect with them.
Unique maritime environment
There is no other place quite like the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel. The preserved warehouse, built in 1787, is situated in one of Copenhagen’s most attractive locations on the waterfront across The Royal Danish Opera, near Copenhagen’s best shopping and cultural attractions, and as neighbor to the Royal Palace Amalienborg and the Royal Playhouse.
The impressive wooden beams and sturdy walls of the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel have been the backdrop to many successful events. Our committed and professional team will take care of both planning and implementation - and we have a lot of suggestions how to add the final touches to your event.
Outside, you have the quayside surroundings offering views across the harbour. Inside, the hotel’s massive beams complement the inviting décor. Small gardens are situated outside the meeting rooms.
To celebrate your next special occasion with something truly unforgettable you can charter one of the three veteran schooners, berthed in front of the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel from May until October.

With a fantastic atmosphere and unique location at the last frontier in Nyhavn Canal, four star 71 Nyhavn Hotel is at home in two historic warehouse buildings from the early 1800.
For 200 years, Nyhavn 71 has been standing between the foamy sprays from the Harbour and life along the Nyhavn Canal. From the southern side of the building unparalleled views to the many beautiful museum ships and the clucking water awaits you and offers one of the best views the Copenhagen has to offer.
The hotel encompasses two beautiful warehouses with each their special charm and character. The red warehouse has been totally renovated and opened in October 2016 with 64 new enlarged Deluxe rooms. Just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel you’ll find Amalienborg Palace, Kongens Nytorv and Strøget – but you don’t have to venture very far to experience the unique atmosphere for which Nyhavn is so renowned.
The warehouses are joint on the ground floor by our cosy lobby, also providing access to our new restaurant; SEA by Kiin Kiin - Southeast Asian kitchen. With respect for the old warehouse, the restaurant is decorated with a clear reference to Hong Kong in the year of 1930.
We look forward to your visit!
