Wakeup Copenhagen is a new modern budget hotel in Copenhagen. The hotel compares well with many of the city's 3-4 star establishments, although coming in pricewise at the 2-star bracket.
The Danish architect, Kim Utzon, has designed this cool, modern, inexpensive hotel, whose comfortable, air-conditioned 12-15 m2 rooms come equipped with multi-channel flat-screen TV, a good sized desk and free wireless Internet.
Wakeup Copenhagen is decorated with furniture from some of the best Danish furniture designers. Whether you are here on business or travelling with friends and family Wakeup Copenhagen is the ideal choice for everyone looking for an affordable stay in the city center.
Wakeup Copenhagen is located in the heart of the city within walking distance of the Tivoli Gardens, the Town Hall Square, the pedestrian shopping streets and the waterfront.
We at the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group are working to promote and develop sustainable tourism. We are doing this by integrating responsible consumption and production into our business. This applies to our choice of suppliers and cooperation partners and, in particular, to our own actions.
Our suppliers and cooperation partners have to commit themselves to living up to our Code of Conduct. Our employees act based on our sustainability principles, which promote the right mindset.
We use the UN’s Global Sustainability Goals as our guiding principle, with a particular emphasis on goals no. 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). It is here that we feel that we can make the biggest and most noticeable difference in relation to our work.
UN’S GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY GOALS AND ECOLABELS
As a complement to the global goals, we work with a number of environmental labels and certifications. They bind us very specifically to actions that can be measured so we can see if the things we do generate the desired effect.
More specifically, we have 5 strategic focus areas, where we have good underlying data and can therefore see if we can really change something. By changing, for example, the containers for soap, shampoo and lotions, we can eliminate 1,350,000 million of containers every year. The five focus areas are:
- Waste sorting
- From spring to tap water
- From small plastic containers to larger containers
- Increased focus on The Organic Cuisine Label and Green Restaurant
- Further reduction in food waste
WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK...
As we amass experience and are inspired by the work of others, we can perhaps supplement with more focus areas. We feel that we are on the right track with our sustainability strategy and specific initiatives. But this is not equal to knowing everything. In other words, we are really looking forward to any ideas or input you could possibly have about how we can do even more.
